Jeffrey Sutorius—formerly known as Dash Berlin—returns to win the hearts of his fans with his Spread Love tour. Over the last 12 years, Sutorius has built an identity as one of the most popular DJs in the world as the frontman of the electronic trio Dash Berlin.  However, last summer he decided to part ways with the rest of the group due to management struggles, and is now set to build the Jeffrey Sutorius brand and keep spreading love.

Sutorius’ passion for electronic music started early in his high school years.

“My sister was a dancer and she got me these live sets of the shows that she danced on. That is when I got hooked with electronic music,” he explains.

Once this passion sparked, young Sutorius fueled it whichever way he could. From listening to bootleg records of live shows, to scraping together his allowance to purchasing albums and building his own little collection, he dove right into the world of electronic music.

“My first job was as a clerk at a record store actually. I was buying so many records that they gave me a call and said, ‘Hey you wanna just work here?’” he laughs. “That was like a dream come true.”

This record store is also where he happened to meet his former partners from Dash Berlin.

From the inception of his love for dance music, Sutorius found himself attracted to the art of mixing and DJ-ing.

“I’ve always had that fascination for what DJs were doing—whether they were introverts or extroverts, or highly technical or not so technical. There were different ways of DJ-ing back in the day, and that became a part of who I am today.”

His masterful DJ-ing skill sets him apart from many of his peers in the industry. While the electronic music industry today uses the term ‘producer’ and ‘DJ’ interchangeably, “They are both different types of skills,” Sutorius says. “I am, and always will be, first and foremost a DJ,” he states.

While he has been producing music following his departure from Dash Berlin, his true talent lies in his skills as a DJ—something that often gets overlooked in today’s club scene.

Sutorius’ passion for DJing shines through his sets, which skillfully weave together different songs to create a euphoric journey that leaves the crowd wanting more.

“I can read people and what they would like to hear, and that’s why I can bring them an experience,” he explains.

While this tour is a chance for him to initiate his new journey under his own name, it is also a chance for him to reconnect with his fans. The Spread Love tour promises to bring fans all the classic Dash Berlin anthems that Sutorius is known for, along with some of his new music.

“I just want people to have a good time when I’m behind the decks. When I see that people are happy, I am happy. So as long as I can do that, there will be many more years to come where I continue doing that.”
